Cookie Policy

Last updated: January 15, 2025

This Cookie Policy explains how Haelixa AG ("Haelixa," "we," "our," or "us") uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies on our website at haelisa.com. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to website owners. Cookies allow a website to recognize your device across multiple visits and to remember your preferences and settings.

In addition to traditional cookies, we also use HTML5 localStorage — a browser-based storage mechanism that works similarly to cookies but is handled locally by your browser without transmitting data to our servers. LocalStorage is particularly useful for storing user interface preferences such as your cookie consent choice and announcement bar state.

2. Types of Cookies and Storage We Use

2.1 Strictly Necessary (Functional)

These are essential for the basic operation of our website and cannot be disabled. They do not require consent.

Name / Key Type Purpose Duration
cookieConsent localStorage Stores your cookie consent choice (accepted/declined) to prevent repeated display of the consent banner Persistent (until cleared)
[hostname]_bar_closed localStorage Remembers whether you have dismissed the funding announcement banner on the homepage Persistent (until cleared)
Session cookies (server) HTTP cookie Maintains basic session state for secure areas of the website (if applicable) Session (expires on browser close)

2.2 Analytics Cookies

We use anonymized analytics to understand how visitors use haelisa.com. These help us improve website content and user experience. These cookies are only set if you have accepted analytics cookies.

Name / Key Type Purpose Duration
_analytics_id Cookie Anonymized visitor identifier for measuring unique visitors and session counts. IP addresses are truncated before storage. No personal data is retained. 26 months
_analytics_session Cookie Identifies a browsing session (sequence of page views). Helps measure session duration and page flow. 30 minutes from last activity

Analytics data is retained for a maximum of 26 months. All analytics data is anonymized after 12 months. We do not use third-party advertising networks, behavioral tracking, or cross-site tracking technologies.

2.3 Performance Cookies

Performance cookies help us optimize the loading speed and layout of our website. They may record which pages load slowly so we can investigate and improve them.

Name / Key Type Purpose Duration
_perf_timing localStorage Records page load timing metrics for performance monitoring. No personal data included. Session

3. Cookies We Do NOT Use

Haelixa does not use the following types of cookies on haelisa.com:

  • Advertising or targeting cookies — We do not place any third-party advertising pixels, retargeting tags, or ad network tracking cookies on our site.
  • Social media tracking pixels — We do not embed tracking pixels from any social media platform.
  • Third-party behavioral tracking — We do not use cross-site tracking technologies that follow you across different websites.
  • Fingerprinting scripts — We do not use browser fingerprinting or other non-cookie tracking methods.

4. How We Obtain Consent

When you first visit haelisa.com, a cookie consent banner is displayed at the bottom of the page. This banner allows you to:

  • Accept — All cookie categories are enabled, including analytics.
  • Decline — Only strictly necessary cookies are used; analytics cookies are not set.

Your consent choice is stored in browser localStorage using the key cookieConsent. This is a first-party, client-side storage mechanism — the data is not transmitted to our servers.

Strictly necessary cookies (including the consent preference itself) are exempt from consent requirements under the EU ePrivacy Directive and Swiss FADP, as they are essential for the basic function of the website.

5. How to Manage and Delete Cookies

5.1 Browser Settings

You can configure most browsers to block, delete, or alert you about cookies. Each browser has different settings; visit your browser's help section for specific instructions:

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies and site permissions
  • Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data

Please note that blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of some website features.

5.2 Clearing LocalStorage

To clear localStorage data set by haelisa.com (including your consent preference), you can use your browser's developer tools:

  • Open Developer Tools (F12 or right-click → Inspect)
  • Navigate to the Application or Storage tab
  • Select Local Storage → haelisa.com
  • Delete individual keys or clear all entries

After clearing localStorage, the cookie consent banner will be displayed again on your next visit.

5.3 Revoking Consent

You may withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clearing the cookieConsent key from your browser's localStorage for haelisa.com (see Section 5.2 above). On your next page visit, the consent banner will reappear and you can make a new choice.

6. Third-Party Services

Our website may load fonts, icons, or other resources from the same server (first-party). We do not embed third-party scripts from external CDNs that would set third-party cookies without your prior consent. If we integrate any third-party services in the future, this Cookie Policy will be updated accordingly before deployment.

7. Cookies in Enterprise Services

The TraceCloud analytics platform used by enterprise clients may use additional cookies and localStorage for session management, user preferences, and platform functionality. These are governed by the enterprise service agreement and any applicable Data Processing Agreement, not by this website Cookie Policy.

8. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted to this page with a revised "Last updated" date. If we make material changes to the types of cookies used or how we use them, we will reset cookie consent to allow users to review and reconfirm their preferences.
